Hey everyone, Benjamin here. I am officially letting everyone know that Breaking Benjamin has NOT broken up! This is just a false rumor that, through the miracle of modern technology, has unfortunately spread.
I am currently taking some time off from touring to further address some health issues that I have been dealing with for some years now which has been posted previously on the shallow bay website and expressed in many recent interviews. I am performing two solo acoustic shows in July but this in no way means that I have left, or am ever going to leave, Breaking Benjamin.
In closing I’d like to thank our incredible fans for their concern. The only thing that I ask, is for everyone to not believe any rumors you hear on the Internet especially when it does not come directly from the band. We hope that our fans know that we love them and are forever grateful of their continuing support.

Hey Guys, I had lapsed into listening to alot of older music and it was you guys that really got me to be the music freak I used to be. I heard Medicate on a CD called Alternative Times and have been hooked ever since. No one where I llived had heard of you guys yet, and I was turning everybody on to you. I was really bummed when I heard of the break up and I am so glad it’s not true. I do hope you get well soon, but take the time to take care of yourself man. And sing the National Anthem again. It was cool.

SUGGESTION 1: i’ve noticed in alot of your songs there’s something to do with god. And meybe just for the few of us that are not religious you could make a few songs without that theme?
SUGGESTION 2: drop anything that can seriously harm you! (eg. smoking drinking etc.) you might have dropped those already but whatever.

I agree on the “ben getting better” part. but i disagree on the “leaving out god” part. Ben is a talented song writer and it got him this far…its his choice to choose what he wants to write about. there needs to be more songs like this out there.

I agree, i am not going to let anyone tell me what i should believe in…or not. It’s a personal choice for each of us. The members of the band are “who they are” and should be accepted for such. Their lyrics “mirror” who they are inside and their life choices, which ever they may be. To ask someone to be something they are not, would be ignorant and a false presence. If you want to listed to music that has no relation to the belief in God (and that is with capital G), there are plenty of bands out there in the music world who reflect that belief as well. For me, i’m so thankful that there are some heavy metal/rock bands out there whose music actually reflect my own beliefs, and are not afraid to express those beliefs in public. I’m a really big fan of Red and Switchfoot, and not only are they expressing their beliefs in their music, but the music itself is so “positive” when the world today reflects so much negativity in music. It’s just nice to hear music that says to the world “you’re not alone,” instead of hearing music that every word is profanity, and chants “i want to kill you.” Give them a break! ah! that was a funny! If you want to hear music without God, i think Marilyn Manson is still around!!!!

I remember the first time I saw Breaking Benjamin here in Pittsburgh. I never even heard of your band before that night but I loved you from the first notes. Due to pigtail pulling that landed me on the ground in the middle of a mosh pit during Head PE I was fished out by security and they sat me on the stairs “back stage” at (what was then) Metropole or possibly Club M. That was when I met Ben and had the opportunity to tell him how great the band was and he was so enthusiastic and sweet that I decided I was a BB Fan for life. When I heard the rumors I HAD to dart over to Shallow Bay and I’m so glad it was false. My Gramma just passed away this weekend and Breaking Benjamin is ALL I have been listening to (even in the funeral procession). It’s comforting.

I wouldnt even know what to do with myself. You guys are awesome and i really hope you get better soon Ben. But maybe stopping with the smoking is a good thing. Me (im 38) My Mom (54) and my daughter is 13…all 3 of us went to Greenville Sc and then drove to Greensboro Nc the next day and say you guys again..My mom walks around singing BB songs all the time. Hey guys. Hope things are working themselves out. Those of us out here in BB land are just waiting patiently until you can make it back out here. You know, I have tons of music, and I mean tons. Most of the time I’ll really like most of the songs on them, but I can say that I have all 3 albums and there is not one song on any of them that I don’t like. That’s rare for me. Thanks for bringing such great music to us. I have not been able to see you live, but I hope to in the near future. I not only have a fear of flying (never will, you can’t get me on a plane), but I also don’t like to be around thousands of people. I will however break that one next time you guys hit the road.
